The client engaged an interior designer to create a new black and white bathroom with a free-standing bath. With space restrictions at play, we created a sleek and modern bathroom that catered for all our client’s needs. The lux feel was accentuated with marble flooring and added pendant light with brass fittings for a touch of difference.
We started with an older Hamptons-style bathroom, that was very closed-in and offered very little space to move.
First, we removed all the fixtures and fittings, bath, toilet, vanity, wall tiles, floor tiles, and wall sheeting then adjusted the plumbing for a new bath, vanity and floor waste locations, as well as adjusted the framework to create a niche in the shower wall.
We moved on to sheeting the walls with villa board and applied two coats of the waterproofing membrane. Once complete, it was time for the new floor and wall tiles. The free-standing bath, vanity, toilet, completely new fixtures and fittings as well as a fixed, frameless shower screen panel were all installed. Our electrician put in new power points, an IXL lighting system (lights, heating, ventilation) and a hanging pendant light above the vanity. We finished the project with paintwork to the ceiling and window frame.
In the end, we transformed a tiny space, that struggled to deliver what the client needed, into a beautifully functional and elegant classic.
